Full-time professor and Faculty Development Chair in our Teaching, Learning and Educational Technology Center (TLETC) at the College of Lake County, a comprehensive community college with about 15,000 students in the northern Chicago suburbs. I have been in this role for 23 years, and prior to that worked in faculty development in the College of Education at Western Illinois University with the Center for the Application of Information Technologies (CAIT).
I work with many different aspects of faculty professional learning including online/blended instruction, DEI initiatives, new faculty orientations and new faculty institute, OER, and working with reenvisioning faculty development to be more co-constructed and less workshop-focused.
I am currently on sabbatical researching the characteristics of teaching and learning centers at high performing institutions (CCSSE high achiever, award winning schools, etc.). Our school is part of the Achieving the Dream Network, and we are currently involved in developing a strategic plan for faculty development with the ATD Teaching and Learning Academy. Ask me about our newly developed Faculty Success Framework. We are engaged in a culture-shift journey that recognizes faculty professional learning to be integral to student success!
